We have had a busy week or so here at The Adventure Service, full of training, fun and new faces.
A big congratulations to many of our staff, for completing a range of training over the last week or so.
Our Outdoor Instructors Andy and Amanda for passing their Paddle Sport Leader assessment on Saturday. A big thanks to all the volunteers that helped our staff out.
Our Director Helen, Trainee Outdoor Instructor Dave and Support Worker Luan completed there FSRT (Foundation Safety and Rescue Training) yesterday. (This is a water safety award.)
Another thank you goes to Stu from Lakeland Paddle Sports Ltd, who had a friendly and professional attitude that ensured our staff were at ease and had a fun day.
Our Day Service Manager and Senior Outdoor Instructor, Mala, has recently completed her IOL (Institute of Outdoor) Bushcraft Competency assessment.
Lastly, our Trainee Instructors Dave and Martin achieved their MIAS Level 2 (Mountain Bike Instructor Award Scheme) last weekend, so they can now lead our Adventurers in biking sessions.
We have welcomed three new members of staff this week. Please welcome our new Trainee Outdoor Instructors, Louise McNaught, April Uylatt and Heidi Watkinson. Louise and April are permanent, and Heidi is relief staff. We are very excited about our new starters and their future with the company.
Finally, you may have heard that The Adventure Service have been nominated for an award from the Institute of Outdoor Learning for their Celebrating Outdoor Learning Awards. We put ourselves forward for three awards and managed to get shortlisted for the Workforce Development Award. The winner is determined by an online public vote, which you can take part in.
