Last Friday, The Adventure Service sadly had to say goodbye to one of our Support Workers, Luan Windley. Luan is moving to Macclesfield with his partner and is going to be working in a nursery.
Luan has been at The Adventure Service since October 2016 when he joined as a volunteer at just 16 years old. Since then, he has grown into a fabulous young man and achieved a fair amount over the last four and a half years.
Luan recently completed a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Health and Social Care with West Nottinghamshire College. This qualification will come in handy with is new job. Luan worked very hard for 18 months to achieve this qualification and passed with a distinction.
Luan also had the fabulous achievement of becoming Young Apprentice of the Year in May 2019 at the Mansfield and Ashfield 2020 awards. Luan attended the awards at the John Fretwell Centre in Mansfield with Director, Helen and Marketing Manager, Lauren. We were all so proud of Luan for winning this award and so was he judging by his beaming smile. He was also a finalist in Nottinghamshire’s Apprentice of the Year at the East Midlands Chamber’s Business Awards four months later.
We are so proud of Luan and how he has grown from a teenage boy into a wonderful young adult. We love you Luan and you are going to be so missed.
